Cristina Clerico has been coaching individuals and families for over 12 years, and has worked with people throughout the United States. She loves to learn and share what she learns to help people reach their highest potential.
Cristina received a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Interdisciplinary Studies. The SpEd training taught her best practice skills to compliment her love of teaching and facilitating groups. It also taught her to find solutions to challenges and develop actionable plans for change. Following college, she learned about empowerment and strengths-based advocacy working as a statewide coordinator/ advocate for people with disabilities. She saw the truth of the statement, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has,” (anthropologist Margaret Mead).
She knows that even ONE individual can change the world. The way to do that is to change oneself. It’s exciting to her that any weakness can be transformed into strength. She loves to help others explore how they can do that.
Meditation helped Cristina overcome difficult teenage years and struggles with trauma, ADD, and oppositional tendencies. She knows that anyone can make progress whether it be in small steps are large strides. She has been using meditation for over 30 years, and was originally self-taught, but has studied with Buddhist monks and nuns in India and the US, as well as taken courses over time to expand her knowledge. She has taught meditation in jails, at homeless shelters, and in community groups throughout the country. Cristina also loves to facilitate workshops to address trauma, stress and anxiety management, goal achievement and communication.
Cristina is trained and certified in Mediation, Nurturing Parenting, Darkness to Light, Breaking Barriers, and Strategic Intervention Coaching. Much of her focus has been on helping build strong families, and working with those who struggle with behavioral diagnose and trauma.
Relentless, determined compassion and hope drive Cristina’s love for helping others address needs in an ever-changing world.
